Where the brightest stars reside
A lot of what drives our people is the opportunity to make a difference to seriously ill children. We draw constant inspiration from the wonderful families who let us into their lives as well as our generous partners and volunteers.
We encourage the best people to work at Starlight and these are just some of the ways we look after them:
Values based culture
Living the STARS values encourages each person to be the best they can be. This includes embracing innovation, creativity and change, sharing Starlight stories and staying focused on our goal of reaching every seriously ill and hospitalised child by 2010.
The Starlight Academy
We provide learning and development through the Starlight Academy individually tailored to your personal and professional development needs. The Starlight Academy is delivered through a range of formal and informal activities and we offer education assistance too.
Flexible work options
These days flexible work options are a component of attracting and retaining great people. When possible, we will consider part-time or work from home arrangements. We also offer paid maternity leave to those employees who have been employed with Starlight for at least two years.
"The most wonderful part of my job is being present on Wishgranting days; it’s heartwarming when you see how happy the children are to have their Starlight Wish granted. To be able to facilitate this happiness is priceless!"
Kerry Weightman, Starlight Wishgranting Coordinator
