At Starlight we support seriously ill children and their families, improving their circumstances, first and foremost.
Starlight doesn’t discriminate in our goal to help all seriously ill children in Australia. It doesn’t matter where sick children live, from where they come or what their beliefs are.
Starlight does not aspire to be the biggest, only the best. Our aim is to help as many seriously ill children as possible, in a personal, principled and meaningful manner.
Volunteers are Starlight's greatest asset and Starlight supports and nurtures their needs, ensuring their commitment and effort is recognised.
As a charity, Starlight maximises the percentage of funds raised that flow direct to it’s children’s programs by minimising overheads and soliciting donations of time, goods and services in everything it does.
Starlight fundraising events originate with the objective of a 100% return on all monies raised, and prefer not to use external professional fundraisers. All donors are made to feel part of the Starlight family and a commitment "beyond a donation" is sought.
Starlight employees work as one cohesive and caring team to shine brightly for seriously ill children and their families. Team members exchange innovative ideas, share their vast knowledge, and take pride in both individual and collective achievements.
Directors on the Board are passionate about the cause and are committed to the highest level of ethics in the management and governance of Starlight. The Board embraces the STARS Values and, for every decision and action taken, asks itself ‘what is best for the children’?
