 Optus- Starlight Platinum Partner

Optus has been a proud supporter of the Starlight Children’s Foundation for 17 years, and has raised over $2 million in this time to help Starlight brighten the lives of thousands of young people and their families.

Optus is also the principal supporter of Starlight’s September fundraising campaign Connectember which encourages the community to help connect isolated young Australians living with a serious illness or disability.

Optus is providing funding and support to Livewire to help reduce the social isolation of young people living with a serious illness, chronic health condition or disability. The two year telecommunications partnership between Optus and the Starlight Children’s Foundation will help extend Livewire’s reach nationally in three ways:

  • Livewire Hospital Program
Optus is contributing funding and support to extend the reach of the Livewire Hospital Program to 26 hospitals across the country, starting at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Optus and the Starlight Children’s Foundation launched their telecommunications partnership at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where Optus enabled the wireless internet connection in 15 hospital wards, and donated 24 purposely built Livewire on Wheels trolleys.
  • Livewire Mobile
Optus is sponsoring Livewire Mobile which enables Livewire Members to access the Livewire communities via their mobile phone. Users can view content, keep in touch with friends and download wallpaper and games.
  • Livewire Diaries
Optus is sponsoring the Livewire Diaries - a series of 5 short documentaries. Each episode is a candid interview with a Livewire member where they share their stories and experiences of living with a serious illness or disability and explain how Livewire has had a positive impact on their lives.
