Under the guidance of the Head of People & Culture, Susan Henry who has been nominated twice for Australian HR Director of the year, we monitor and measure everything that moves. This provides the business with relevant and accurate data so we can help steer Starlight into the future.
Finance & Operations team
The Finance & Operations team is responsible for a number of vital areas. These include financial administration & reporting, governance, our information & technology network, data management and digital strategy.
The team consists of a balance of talented interns & professionals, who work together by cross training one another, giving team members the opportunity to learn from each other resulting in high levels of productivity and engagement.
Starlight receives no government funding and the Starlight Fundraising team is responsible for raising the funds to make what we do possible. The Fundraising team is made up of Corporate & Community fundraising, individual regular giving, major donors & philanthropy relationship management, campaigns and major events.
Our fundraising team is made up of driven professionals with sales, relationship management and event/project management expertise. They enjoy nothing more than sharing Starlight’s mission and stories, and developing mutually beneficial relationships.

Starlight’s programs are professional, leading edge, unique and highly engaging entertainment programs using distraction-based therapy techniques that transform the lives of seriously ill children and their families by positively impacting on their emotional and social well-being.
The Programs team is made up of a diverse range of roles, from Program delivery by Captain Starlight, Livewire and wishgranting programs, project management to R&D to ensure Starlight continues to deliver amazing programs to seriously ill children and their families throughout Australia.
Those in Captain Starlight and Livewire Facilitator roles are from professional entertainment backgrounds, including actors, musicians, magicians and comedians.

Marketing & Communications
Starlight’s Marketing and Communications team have the amazing task of sharing Starlight’s mission and stories with our supporters and future supporters. The team is responsible for developing, implementing and driving our marketing and communications strategy. The team manages social media, graphic design, PR and advertising.
