Votes bring laughter to sick kids
Starshots photographic studios wants Australians to vote for their favourite local family in a national competition to help raise $100,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Starshots franchisee and spokesperson Cheryl Sykes said that for every vote registered during Starshots Essence of Family competition, Starshots will donate one dollar to the Starlight Children’s Foundation, up to a maximum of $100,000.
“We’re really proud to be a national partner to the Starlight Children’s Foundation for the next 12 months,” Ms Sykes said. “Through the Essence of Family competition everyone has the chance to make a difference and win some fabulous prizes… just for voting.”
“We wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to help us to bring some much-needed laughter and smiles to seriously ill kids and also to support their families at such a challenging time in their lives.”
Ms Sykes said people should drop into their nearest Starshots studio between now and Christmas and throughout January to vote for one of the five family images they feel best represents the essence of family.
She said people could also enter the competition by voting online at www.essenceof.com.au.
There will be a winner drawn from competition entrants at each of the 17 studios throughout Australia and prizes for runners-up. Each winner will receive a $2,500 family photo package. The family whose photo is voted the most popular throughout Australia will win a $3,000 travel voucher.
“Teaming up with the Starlight Children’s Foundation enables us to celebrate the laughter, connection, friendship, spirit and sense of belonging that come from being in a family,” Ms Sykes said.
“As well as the Essence of Family competition, we’re also providing $250,000 worth of goods and services to give more than 200 Starlight families Australia-wide a family photo shoot and portrait package valued at $1,000 each, and support to Starlight’s national programs, events and fundraising opportunities over the next 12 months.
Winners of The Essence of Family competition will be drawn in every Starshots studio on 6 February 2009.
