It was a pleasure to attend one of your meetings and share with you all information about Starlight and how we brighten the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children throughout Australia and to have the opportunity to thank you for your generous donation.
Caltex - Thanks to Caltex for holding an amazing national raffle with prizes including a $10,000 Qantas Travel Fund and for the launching of an exciting Christmas Online Giving Campaign to run across all Caltex Retail Channels in the months of November and December.
Clubs QLD: Clubs Smile for a Child - The Clubs Smile for a Child Foundation is a highly valued ongoing supporter of the Starlight Children's Foundation and we thank them for their continued support in 2009 as the exclusive Creative Activity Programs supporter for the Starlight Express Room at the Mater Children's Hospital. Clubs Smile for a Child support also extends to sponsoring the Outreach Programs by providing Captain Starlight visits to regional hospitals in North and Far North Queensland.
The CSFAC Program has enabled the Starlight Children’s Foundation to make a difference in the lives of so many families in Queensland who have been devastated by a child’s serious illness or hospitalisation. The need for Starlight’s programs continues to grow and the CSFAC program plays a critical role in ensuring Starlight’s valuable programs can be accessed by ALL seriously ill and hospitalised Queensland children and their families.
CountryLink - Thank you to the entire team at CountryLink for the inaugural and very memorable Starlight Express Train Escape taking over 200 Starlight kids and their families on a Halloween-themed journey down the NSW Coast for a special picnic at Bombaderry Oval.
Diamond Exchange - Starlight thanks Diamond Exchange for their valuable partnership over the last 4 years. Through Diamond Exchange’s support of our events nationally for 2009 providing exquisite diamonds and jewellery for auctions and raffles, we have been able to raise much needed funds for children in need.
Dreamworld & Whitewater World - Thank you to the team at Dreamworld & Whitewater World for their generous support of the Starlight Wishgranting Program. This support ensures the families visiting the Gold Coast for their Starlight Wish have an incredible and memorable experience.
Dubbo Diggers Bowling Club - Dubbo Diggers held their annual National Diggers Bowls Carnival Day in September. We would like to thank Eric Chamberlain for organising this fantastic event, which raised over $10,000.
EB Games - 50 seriously ill children and their families will enjoy some much-needed quality time together through the Starlight Escapes program. Thank you for your continued support.
Elizabeth & Graeme Chapman - A special thank you for all your hard work and effort at your private dinner to raise funds for Starlight. It was a great result and we greatly appreciate your support.
Five Chefs Melbourne - Our wonderful Five Chefs: Frank Camorra, Guy Grossi, Andrew Blake, Jason Camillo, Karen Martini and Will Studd – and everyone who attended the Melbourne event in October. Thank you for your wonderful support of Starlight and we look forward to seeing you in 2010.
Forty Winks - Thank you to everyone at Forty Winks for your generous spirit and support in making dreams come true for seriously ill children – granting twenty special Starlight Wishes come true this year and going above and beyond in supporting us with other initiatives in raising much needed funds for Starlight.
Freehills - A huge thank you to Freehills for their commitment and support. Freehills raised an amazing $13,360 for Starlight through their annual quiz night.
GHD - During August, GHD volunteers hosted a Painting Day Escape at their Adelaide Office. The Children were each provided a canvas print of their artwork. With permission from the Starlight families who participated in the Escape a large painting and a number of other smaller items created by the children were auctioned at GHD’s Annual Client Cocktail Function, held on 2 September at the Adelaide Town Hall. Thanks to GHD staff, their clients, Hon Patrick Conlon; guest speaker and sponsors, GHD raised $5,320 which was donated to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Golden Casket QLD - Thanks to Golden Casket for their enormous support of the Starlight Express Room at the Mater Children’s Hospital where Captain Starlight brings laughter, games, magic and fun back into the lives of hospitalised children and their families.

Kedron Wavell RSL Services Club Inaugural Charity Race Day at Eagle Farm - Held on Saturday, 5th September at Eagle Farm Racecourse, Starlight was the beneficiary of this wonderful day. It was a huge success and on behalf of all at Starlight thank you to all at Kedron Wavell RSL Services Club for the wonderful support this year – it is greatly appreciated.
KPMG - The KPMG Social Club Charity Quiz Night was held on Wednesday 14th October and raised close to $9,000 for Starlight. Their engaging support is greatly appreciated.
Macquarie Private Bank, Cavendish Superannuation and Kelly & Co Lawyers - On 23 October 2009, Macquarie Private Bank, Cavendish Superannuation and Kelly & Co Lawyers jointly hosted a fundraising wine evening at the National Wine Centre to raise funds for the much-anticipated Starlight Express Room at the Women's and Children's Hospital. During the evening Chalk Hill Wines kindly hosted a wine appreciation MasterClass. Following the Master Class, everyone enjoyed an opportunity to network and sample more of the Chalk Hill Wines on offer. $3,500 was raised in total, including a contribution from Macquarie Foundation of $1,500. Thank you to Macquarie, Cavendish and Kelly & Co for choosing to raise funds for Starlight.

Repco Authorised Service Group - Starlight has benefited from a unique approach to improving road safety. Mechanics from the Repco Authorised Service group recently carried out a series of Saturday morning safety tests for motorists across Adelaide. Using a mobile version of the Safe-T-Stop® diagnostic unit, the drive on tests have been conducted in the car park of Repco Auto Parts stores at Noarlunga, Modbury, Marden and Salisbury. For a gold coin donation to Starlight, motorists were treated to the computerised test, which measures the steering, braking and suspension systems and provides a printed report on how these critical components are likely to perform in an emergency situation. Starlight volunteers were in attendance with a sausage sizzle and cold drinks, which added to the funds raised on the day.
Spring Celebrations at Sanctuary Cove - Held on 21st October, Starlight was one of the beneficiaries. This was a unique cultural community event featuring fabulous fashion, food and fun in The Marine Village. A special thank you to Lucia Fenton for making this possible and choosing Starlight as a beneficiary. Thank You.
Street Commodores – Thank you to Kelvin and Janelle Cook for coordinating another fantastic Cruise for Charity and raising much needed funds for Starlight.
Street Fords - We would like to thank Roy Velardi, Sash Ninovic and Paul Spyrou who drove a round trip in an Australian icon the Ford Falcon XY GT from Sydney to Perth in just over 7 days. This great fundraiser has raised a combined total of $7750.00 for our Starlight Programs – Thank you!

Teva Adventure Series – A very special thank you to Simon and Robyn Lazenby for their support of Starlight through the Teva Adventure Series 2009 encouraging participants to create an online fundraising page through Everyday Hero to raise funds for Starlight.
The Great Adventure Challenge 2009 - This great event was held on Saturday 24th October at Wangi Wangi on the Central Coast. A huge thank you to the 9 corporate teams who took part as well as the Great Adventure Challenge committee for making this year’s event a great success. Collectively the following teams have risen over $135,000 for our Starlight Programs - Pharmacare Laboratories, Diageo, RogenSi, CH2M Hill, Foxtel, Ernst & Young, OAMPS, Korn Ferry and Austar.
The Great Escapes Charter Company - Thank you to The Great Escapes Charter Company for providing exclusive luxury cruise experiences to the Kimberley coast for our IT Fund Dinner live auctions.
Trevor Bennett - We would like to thank Trevor Bennett for hosting a Starlight Auction Night in his home town of Narooma, NSW. This fabulous event raised $20,000.
Westnet - A huge thank you to Westnet who presented Starlight with the very special gift of a Starlight Express Van. Westnet’s sponsorship of the Starlight Express Van has come at a critical time and will allow Starlight to continue to brighten the lives of seriously ill children living in rural and remote areas of WA.
