Starlight child Eadweard is 15, and the big brother to four younger siblings. They are a close family who enjoy spending time together, either out of the house when time and health permits, or at home engaging in family activities, with board games being a favourite family pastime.
With the complexities of Eadweard's medical needs, it's often difficult to make plans with the entire family, and that's where Starlight Moments has stepped in to help create some lasting, special, memories.
Starlight Moments creates joyful and meaningful experiences for families with a child in palliative care. These experiences offer opportunities to come together as a family, and help individual family members feel recognised and celebrated.
"The kids all love waiting for the package to arrive to see what has been planned. They know now that they can expect something special when they have a birthday coming up and it creates a sense of excitement leading up to their special day!" says Eadweard's mum Sarah.
Sarah said the arrival of their "Picnic Under the Stars" package is at the top of the list as one of their favourite Starlight Moments to date!
This pack included a beautiful picnic blanket, a gift card to their closest grocer, a Bluetooth speaker (with a specially curated playlist!), playing cards and card game booklet. Of course there were fairy lights included and a star projector to really set the mood. Each member of the family also received a tote bag they could decorate with the enclosed fabric markers, and carry their favourite picnic items in.
