Chyma was 14 when she was diagnosed with Rheumatic Fever, and not long afterwards with Hyper Mobility Syndrome and Lupus.

She had been so sick for so long, it was a relief for her family to finally have some answers and a treatment plan to help her feel better.

Managing years of intensely scheduled cardiologist appointments, check-ups, Rheumatic clinics and regular injections put a huge strain on Chyma, and her family.

Despite all she endured though, Chyma approached everything with a positive mindset and upbeat attitude.

Tina says,“Chyma is caring, loving, outgoing and bubbly. She’s fun to be around and can make you smile even on the worst of days. Chyma would take the shirt off her back to help someone else out.”

Ever since she was little Chyma had dreamt of a professional modelling career, keen to represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teens in the modelling industry.

Chyma’s Starlight Wish brought her one step closer to her lifelong dream, with a fashion filled experience fit for the runway… complete with VIP access to the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival!

Flying Virgin to Melbourne, Chyma had a star-worthy hair and makeup consultation, a professional photoshoot, and met with some of Australia’s top models for some insider tips and tricks.

Chyma was treated to a backstage tour at the Fashion Festival, meeting meet some of the hottest names in fashion along the way, before hitting the front row for an incredible runway show.

Chyma can’t wait to strike a pose again, with another amazing photoshoot scheduled on her trip to Happiness Island.
