At only 12 weeks old, Sam was diagnosed with a rare form of eye cancer. During the early years of his life, Sam was consistently in and out of hospital. The Starlight Express Room become an escape from the hardship of treatment to give happiness and joy to him and his family.
Despite trying everything, doctors were forced to remove Sam’s eyes causing blindness in order to treat the cancer. Not only was Starlight there on the day of the surgery, but for many years to come for both Sam and his family.
Now 20 years old, Sam is a Starlight Advocate. This is Sam’s Story.
