Molly smiles again — thanks to you
Katrina and Mark were in complete shock when their daughter Molly’s persistently sore ankle turned out to be Leukaemia.
As a result of her gruelling chemotherapy, Molly became depressed and withdrawn, heartbreakingly telling her mum, “my smile is gone, and I can’t get it back.”
Although her parents tried everything to help, it was only when Captain Starlight came to visit that Molly began to respond.
“They just knew how to help her” says Katrina. “The Captains got her to smile, they got her to laugh, and they got her out of bed. The impact the Captains had on Molly is immeasurable.”
During her chemotherapy, Molly found out she’d be receiving her very own Starlight Wish!!
Molly's wish was to travel to beautiful Heron Island to see the baby turtles hatch. This once in a lifetime experience was the perfect opportunity for the family to relax and reconnect after all they had been through.

Brand new Captains on Call, all thanks to you!
With thanks to your generous support, our specially trained Captains on Call are now supporting even more kids facing the trauma of treatment for eye cancer.
On their very first day in the Royal Children’s Hospital Retinoblastoma Clinic, our Captains on Call met one-year-old Luke who was being prepared for surgery.
Luke was fascinated as the Captains played a gentle rendition of “In the Jungle” on the ukelele. The song was a hit with baby Luke as he started to smile and dance with the music.
When Ophthalmologist Dr Sandy saw how happy her usually distressed little patient was, she cried some happy tears of her own!

You've made Broly's dream come true
At four years old, train obsessed Broly was rushed to hospital after collapsing at home. Doctors discovered a large brain tumor which required immediate surgery.
Now seven, Broly's love of trains is as strong as ever so his Starlight Wish was as easy choice.
With thanks to your support, Broly spent an incredible day as "trainee train driver" of SA’s famous Pichi Richi steam train, complete with his very own train driver’s outfit!
