Thanks to your kind generosity, Captain Starlight created positive healthcare experiences for kids in 134 remote communities last year! This included one little girl on Thursday Island who was frightened to receive her injection for Rheumatic Heart Disease.
Captain Starlight jumped straight in, playing games to distract her from the injection. After playing with puppets and playdoh, the needle was the last thing on the girl’s mind, and she soon shared that she’d ‘hardly felt a thing’ as she was given her vital injection!
Afterwards, she was thrilled to receive a Captain Starlight cape, naming herself ‘Captain Strong’ and leaving the clinic with a smile, a wave and ongoing protection against rheumatic heart disease!
By making healthcare a positive experience, stories like this show the lasting impact of your generosity. You are helping kids in remote communities to get the vital treatment they need to have healthier futures.
