There was much excitement aboard Red the Rocketship recently as it headed directly toward Thursday Island (known as Waibene to the Kaurareg people) to join the team from Indigenous Respiratory Outreach Care... ready to create some serious FUN! The Starlight Captains were so happy to greet many of their old friends, and thrilled also to see some brand new faces!
As soon as the Rocketship had been parked, Thursday Island’s resident dinosaur expert was first on scene to ensure some amazing dinosaur facts were a key part of the Captains’ learnings on this trip.
Captain Starlight lands on Thursday Island (Waibene)
The learning continued for the Captains when they were introduced for the very first time to an awesome game called basketball! Captain Starlight just could not believe they had never played this amazing game before! The kids and Captains had so much fun playing this brand new sport, and learning all the rules!
Once everyone was a bit tired out from developing their newfound balling skills, it was time for Captain Starlight to put on the most fun puppet show ever! The puppetry shenanigans had the whole clinic giggling, and everyone had a great time with the Captains’ very special mate, Larry the Lizard.
Once again the Captains enjoyed another fantastic visit to their friends on Thursday Island (Waibene), and it was great to see so many kids and families keen to receive their check-ups at the respiratory clinic.
