So, what better challenge than to get kids in hospital to help Captain Starlight create a new solar system!
The activity was part of an innovate new 3D Interactive Space & Science Installation in Perth Children’s Hospital. The installation was created over three weeks in collaboration with the Telethon Kids Institute who kindly shared their science props, materials and equipment.
Kids on the wards participated via Starlight TV where they joined in daily activities helping them stay connected to the fun in the Starlight Express Room.
We distributed 190 interactive craft packs for kids in isolation on the wards and they tuned in to participate in 27 different craft activities. Their collective creativity was out of this world!

In the Randwick Starlight Express Room see the Captain Starlights drop off craft packs to kids on the wards ready to join in the daily live broadcast of the craft workshop on Starlight TV.
Little Starlights
Our music sessions in partnership with the Music Therapy team, give little kids the chance to be big stars! Kids request their favourite song to sing live on Starlight TV. From Wheels on the Bus to the latest hits, the kids love the interactive fun and the chance to star on TV.
Crazy Socks for Docs
An awesome day where health workers wear brightly coloured socks to raise awareness of mental health in their profession. Captain Starlight's creative sock puppets stole the show on Starlight TV.
Livewire Tonight
Running at Sydney Children's hospital in both Westmead and Randwick this new nightly Starlight TV program is specifically for teenagers featuring trivia, Bob Ross-style art workshops, cook-offs and chat segments.
Pop singer Alex Rose
Pop singer Alex Rose made a special guest appearance on Starlight TV where teens joined in games and singing challenges in the live streamed event.
OOHBar Arts
Our new 'art delivery' service for teens in Perth Children's Hospital. Young people search a menu for the art activity that takes their fancy, text through their order and the Livewire team delivers it right to their bedside! They can then tune into Starlight TV and watch a live art workshop to create their very own masterpiece.
