You helped bring Vance’s family happiness on their hardest days!
Vance was a typical cheeky and happy four-year-old. He was always on the go and enjoyed sports and outdoor hobbies, including swimming and jumping on the trampoline.
One ordinary afternoon when playing at a friend’s house, Vance and his friend were “hunting frogs”, when unexpectedly a large garden statue fell on top of him. Vance spent the next eight weeks in the ICU.
Doctors then delivered the heartbreaking news, Vance had suffered a severe spinal injury and would never walk again.
Vance went through months of therapy and was often frustrated he could no longer run and play like he used to.
But thanks to supporters like you the Starlight Express Room became a much-needed escape for Vance and his family. Together they would visit daily joining in on quizzes and games and connecting as a family.
Because of your support, Vance and his family had a place where they could play, laugh, and forget about his injury, even briefly.

Every Starlight Day, Starlight Express Rooms erupt with joy, and this year's "Super Star Challenge" was no different! Thanks to generous supporters like you, kids like Poppy got to experience a day filled with fun and accomplishment.
Poppy, initially shy, found herself overwhelmed by the bustling room. But the "S.T.A.R. Challenge" games, were just the spark she needed. With a Player Passport from Captain Starlight, her confidence soared as she completed each activity, earning a cape, hat, and wand. Fuelled by her newfound spirit, Poppy tackled the monthly scavenger hunt, happily taking home her Captain Starlight Doll.

Eve's final treatment hurdle sparkled, thanks to you!
After over 50 sessions of radiation, Eve faced her final cancer treatment. Nervous but brave, she conquered each session with a reward - a visit to the Starlight Express Room! There, Captain Starlight helped her escape her worries with crafts and karaoke.
To mark her final treatment, it was finally time for Eve’s bell-ringing ceremony, and she wanted a sparkly celebration. Captains, nurses, and doctors donned sequins, creating a joyous parade to the Starlight.
