Starlight's most important responsibility
At Starlight, the safety and wellbeing of children and young people is our most important responsibility. We are committed to creating environments that are caring, supportive, and free from harm across all our programs.
We are fully committed to the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and have a comprehensive safeguarding framework in place to guide how we prevent harm and respond to concerns. These include our Safeguarding Children and Young People (SCYP) Policy, SCYP Code of Conduct, and SCYP Reporting and Responding Policy, which set clear expectations for behaviour and outline our approach to identifying and responding to concerns, abuse, or neglect.
Every Starlight team member and Volunteer is required to uphold these standards and follow our safeguarding policies in all interactions with children and young people. They are trained, supported, and guided to always ensure safe practices.
Our National Board of Directors is fully committed to safeguarding children and young people and provides strong governance and oversight to ensure our organisation meets and maintains the highest child‑safe standards.
Starlight is dedicated to protecting children and young people from all forms of harm. We are unwavering in our responsibility to provide safe, joyful, and enriching experiences for every child and young person who participates in our programs.
