We believe that play is the work of children. While sick kids often experience a very adult world of stress and trauma, play is the powerful force essential to developing resilience, wellbeing and a sense of normality. 

In every children’s hospital across Australia, you’ll find a Starlight Express Room where Starlight’s superheroes, Captain Starlights, bring happiness to sick kids and their families.  

Starlight Express Rooms are vibrant medical free places, filled with music, games and laughter, providing a break from the challenges of hospital life. 

The whole family is welcome, allowing families the opportunity to reconnect with each other and enjoy some much-needed positive distraction at the toughest of times. 

There are games galore, all the latest gaming consoles, and enough art and craft activities to satisfy even the most discerning of artists!
