Captain Starlights are exceptional performers, who bring kids’ imagination to life.
Captain Starlight transforms the health care experience for indigenous families in hospital and alongside health professionals in indigenous communities all across the Top End.
Based in the Northern Territory, this is a unique opportunity to experience life in some of the most spectacular and remote parts of the country while helping to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
The Captain Starlight program is underpinned by proven research which recognises that fun and play improve overall health and wellbeing for kids.
A day in the life of Captain Starlight
Let kids’ imaginations soar!
In the Northern Territory, our teams of Captain Starlights work their magic in the children's hospitals in Darwin or Alice Springs, engaging and entertaining kids and families through the power of performance.
Our Captains take to the skies (literally!), as they fly into remote communities with doctors and nurses to help make health clinics more fun and less intimidating for kids.
Make a real difference
There is still a significant gap between the health of indigenous and non-indigenous people. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids have some of the highest levels of preventable diseases in the world.
Our Captain Starlights’ mission in the NT is helping to change that.
I have never had a job like this, where I could use my performance skills to make a difference to lives of indigenous kids. The doctors and nurses we fly into communities with, value us so much, that they will cancel their flights if we're not available. I know what I do is having real impact.

You'll have a range of entertainment expertise
Our Captain Starlights come from performance backgrounds like improv, clowning, theatre or stand-up comedy.
You'll have experience working with children
Successful applicants will undertake a Working With Children Check and a National Police Check.
You'll be a team player
We're after those with excellent interpersonal communication and sensitivity, and ability to work with others.
