Hunter's story
Late one night, Hunter's mum got a phone call asking her to urgently bring Hunter to the hospital.
Within hours, their lives were shattered. Four-year-old Hunter was diagnosed with leukaemia.
He was rushed into intensive care to try and stabilise him before starting chemotherapy. Within days, the cancer had spread to his central nervous system.
His mum Bridie describes those early days in hospital as the worst days of her life.
"Hunter was constantly having needles and we had to help hold him down. He was so distressed that the doctors gave him sedatives which made him sick and vomit everywhere."
When Hunter heard about his Starlight Wish, his face lit up with excitement.
The family decided on a Dalmatian puppy who Hunter called Rocky.
Ever since they have met, Hunter and Rocky have been best friends.
"Starlight has brought our family so much joy. I'm so thankful to the supporters who make this happiness possible," Hunter's mum Bridie said.
