Lottie's story
“One minute we were adjusting to life with a newborn...the next we were thrust into a world of paediatric cancer. We were shocked, bewildered, and scared,” said Lotte’s Mum, Mindy.
At just 12 weeks old, Lotte was diagnosed with cancer in her right eye. Since then, her life has been consumed by hospital visits and painful treatments.
Lotte endured aggressive treatment to successfully clear the tumour in her right eye.
Devastatingly, the treatment took its toll.
At just four years old, Lotte underwent surgery to remove her damaged eye.
Over time, the many procedures Lotte faced left her terrified. To help her through this essential treatment, Lotte’s nurses sought the support of Captain Starlight.
During traumatic procedures, Captain Starlight stays by Lotte’s side, entertaining and distracting her while her health team provides vital care.
