There is still a significant difference between the health status of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
Access to specialists health clinics is often limited in remote communities. When it is available, these clinics are met with unfamiliar anxiety and fear. Less treatments are sought. And a cycle of avoidable health issues continues - especially in kids.
Sadly this means kids in remote communities STILL have some of the highest levels of PREVENTABLE diseases in the world.

Starlight is working in partnership with health professionals to change health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids. We deliver our Captain Starlight program to remote community health clinics, providing positive distraction for kids through fun, play and imagination, and easing the unfamiliar fear and anxiety of clinic visits.
Our work so far has:
Boosted specialist clinic attendance by 34%
Enhanced the clinic experience - 98% of our healthcare partners agree
Increased the community confidence in the healthcare system
