Zai's story
"As parents, all you want is your child to be happy and to just be a kid again, and that’s what Starlight does.” — Zai’s mum, Kalee.
Zai was just seven when his world was shattered by neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer.
Kalee said the shock was overwhelming. “One day you’re running the kids to school, and the next, you’re in hospital facing the unknown.”
During Zai’s long months of treatment in hospital, Captain Starlight helped make hospital a happy place again, bringing back the fun and laughter he needed to cope.
