A Starlight Wish is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a seriously ill child and their family.
From the moment a child is told their Starlight Wish has been granted the excitement begins.
Dreaming, planning and talking about the wish is a great distraction from treatment and surgery. It's the light at the end of the tunnel that lifts spirits and brings families together.

Nora's wish
Diagnosed with a spinal tumour at just eight months old, Nora was fighting for her life.
"At the moment of diagnosis, our life as we knew it and the future we had planned flashed before us, and everything became uncertain," Nora's mum, Naomi said.
With the aggressive tumor crushing her spine, Nora needed life-saving treatment straight away and suddenly hospital became their second home. She endured six months of chemotherapy and never-ending tests, scans and needles.
The one bright light during Nora's long and gruelling time in hospital was Starlight.
Nora's eyes lit up whenever Captain Starlight visited the ward with fun and laughter. It broke up the long days when she was confined to her hospital room.
Then amid all the pain and darkness, came an incredible gift of hope and happiness when Nora was granted her Starlight Wish!
Nora was over the moon with excitement - it was the best distraction from the fear and loneliness of her agonising months in hospital.
As Nora loves camping with her family, she chose a camper trailer for her Starlight Wish to enjoy previous time together away from hospital.
