When two-year-old Lexi was diagnosed with cancer her mum and dad said it felt like ‘the world had been ripped away from us.’
Lexi had a cancerous tumour on her kidney that had ruptured and spread to her lungs.
During Lexi’s agonising time in hospital having chemo and major surgery, your regular support made a positive impact day after day.
Thanks to your ongoing support, Lexi had Captain Starlight, and the Starlight Express Room filled with games, arts and crafts to have fun and be distracted from the pain and sadness of hospital.
Having fun with the games & activities (especially the fishing game!) gave Lexi back the childhood happiness her diagnosis had taken away.
“It’s not ‘going to the hospital’, it’s ‘going to the Starlight Room’ for Lexi!” her dad Evan said.
Sadly, serious illness impacts kids like Lexi every minute of every day.
