Volunteer with teens & young people in hospital

In hospitals around Australia, Livewire runs over 2,000 creative workshops each year covering everything from music and photography to film making, creative writing, animation and art. These fun, creative workshops enhance self-esteem, confidence and resilience.

Livewire helps young people connect with others who know what they're going through.

When you become a Livewire volunteer, you'll help provide a range of activities which enhance personal development, encourage engagement and foster a sense of normality in a relaxed environment. Ideally you'll have a specific creative skill you can share - or you're keen to learn new ones!

Livewire Volunteers are also eligible to help grant Starlight Wishes. Each Wish is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a seriously ill child or young person, and is made up of different tasks. Volunteers can choose to help with tasks that suit. You might find yourself helping a family with their Wish choice, delivering a puppy to the most excited child in Australia, or hosting a family at the zoo.

This is a regular commitment with at least two Livewire shifts each month, and Wishgranting Tasks are on a flexible, ad hoc basis. Regular shifts mean you'll be truly confident in the role and make even more of a difference.

We're looking for positive, creative, reliable people who can comfortably connect with teens, have plenty of initiative and love being part of a team. You'll receive training before you start, and ongoing support.
