When Lorelei was just nine years old, her parents Jen and Peter received the crushing news that their daughter’s kidneys were failing. Lorelei would need a kidney transplant so save her.

While she waited for her transplant, Lorelei’s daily life would be consumed by dialysis to help clear her body of the toxins that were building up inside it.

What made this news all the more shocking was that dad Peter was also undergoing dialysis himself at the time. Mum Jen managed Lorelei and Peter’s dialysis schedule, while preparing to donate her kidney to Peter at the same time.

Thankfully, Lorelei’s kidney transplant was a success and as she recovered from the trauma of her experience she was excited to learn she would be granted her own Starlight Wish!

A lover of all animals, Lorelei chose to swim with dolphins, and be a zookeeper for the day.

She was joined by her mum and dad, and older brother Alexander for her adventure of a lifetime.

The family flew to the Gold Coast where they all shared the delight of interacting with the incredible dolphins at Sea World. Lorelei had the time of her life swimming with the beautiful creatures.

The family then headed to Australia Zoo to support their very own honorary zookeeper and had an amazing time getting right up close to all creatures great and small!

Their adventure was the perfect chance for the family to reconnect, laugh and relax together after such an incredibly difficult few years for them all.

Lorelei and Jen are looking forward to travelling to Happiness Island together to make some more amazing memories together.
