Starlight and Virgin Australia celebrate 15 years of Wishgranting

2025 marks a significant milestone as Starlight and Virgin Australia celebrate 15 years of our Wishgranting partnership.    

Virgin has been a proud partner of Starlight since 2010 and in that time, has helped grant over 3,000 Starlight Wishes bringing lasting happiness to seriously ill children and their families.   

To mark this milestone, Starlight children and their families enjoyed an unforgettable experience - Happiness in the Heart of Australia. 

Travel wishes are our most popular wish choice and the Virgin team both on-the-ground and in-the-air go above and beyond to create unforgettable wish experiences for every family.  

This milestone trip to Uluru was no exception with the team helping to make the dreams of Starlight kids and families a reality by taking them to the spiritual heart of Australia.  

Our thanks also to Voyages Indigenous Tourism for their incredible support helping to create so many enriching cultural activities and experiences to make this trip truly unforgettable.

The journey began in Brisbane with a fun-filled send off at the Virgin Australia lounge, with laughter, games and entertainment with Captain Starlight.

Kids and families then excitedly boarded their flight with flashing Starlight wands filling the plane ready to embark on their incredible five-day adventure!

From Sunrise Journeys and Field of Light to the iconic Mala Walk and bespoke National Park experiences, with a huge thanks to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, the trip was filled with memorable and inspiring moments of awe and wonder.

Kids and their families enjoyed camel rides, dot painting and didgeridoo lessons. Watching the beautiful sunrise over Uluru was a moment that families will treasure forever.

This amazing wish experience gave children and their families time away from the often painful and isolating world of hospital, and time to connect and create new memories they will hold onto for a lifetime.
