There are times when our office team need a helping hand. Our Office Volunteers help with all kinds of administrative tasks from data-entry, to gift wrapping, to answering the phones – you name it! You can volunteer on an ad hoc or regular basis, and we promise you’ll always feel warmly welcomed.
Professionally Skilled Volunteers are often needed to help with specific projects or initiatives, to help improve our processes or provide strategic advice. We also have internship opportunities to help you develop your skills, strengthen your CV and gain new networks.

“I was in semi-retirement and decided that now I had time on my hands, I wanted to be able to do something worthwhile. I have a lovely friend who has worked at Starlight for a while and she told me what a great place it was to volunteer in.
I mainly assist the Livewire team. I co-ordinate the sending out of prizes…often I’m compiling the items to make up these prizes, goodie bags … you name it! I can also be doing lots of photocopying and laminating for the team. It all depends on what is going on within Livewire.
I love the fact that what I do brings joy to the kids even if I don’t see that face-to-face. If you have some extra time and you feel you would like to do something worthy then Starlight is the right place. And even though you don’t get to see the children that are sick, you see what the other teams do and can get a real sense of how much caring there is and how much love and effort the Starlight teams put into their roles.” - Dawn
