Izzy's story
Three-year-old Isobel (Izzy) was on a family holiday when she started to seem unwell. She lacked energy and was frequently upset.
Her parents were completely shocked when, a few weeks later, doctors diagnosed Izzy with a kidney tumour. She had to travel 260km to begin treatment immediately.
Izzy’s family was split in two as she endured months of painful and scary chemotherapy treatment.
She missed out on all the fun of being a kid, being isolated from her friends, and missing her brothers Olly and Sage terribly.
Her Starlight Wish gave Izzy something to look forward to. She and her brothers watched on with excitement as her very own playground took shape in their backyard.
Now Izzy has a safe haven to play and can enjoy the fun of childhood again.
"Izzy's Starlight Wish was more than we could ever have imagined. We love to run down as a family in the morning and see if a fairy has had a midnight tea party. Sometimes, there are even teacups left over. We are so grateful” says her parents Andrew and Tegan.
