Amazon Australia has been teaming up with children across the country chosen by Starlight Children’s Foundation to review the top 100 holiday toys every year since 2019.
These Amazon Playmakers are our Starlight superheroes enlisted to help test and rate an array of games, gadgets, dolls and everything in-between for Amazon, and the top 100 toys get included in the Amazon Playmakers catalogue available every year in November. This catalogue has now become the go-to Christmas shopping guide for all parents in Australia.
If testing the latest crop of toys wasn’t exciting enough, in 2021 the Amazon Playmakers were also asked to use their wildest imagination to dream big and think up their ultimate toy concepts — concepts which were immortalised by renowned artist, Mitch Revs, in an original colouring book — the first ever Amazon Playmakers Holiday Colouring Book.
All the kids selected as Amazon Playmakers have serious illnesses, which means they often spend weeks or months in hospital at a time and left with a feeling of isolation. This campaign helps getting the children involved, giving them a lot of fun and laughter, so they can enjoy that much-needed respite from their health battles.
In 2011, Amazon Australia donated $1 for every Amazon Playmakers Holiday Colouring book sale during Black Friday and Cyber Monday Shopping Events to Starlight. And in addition, they extended their generosity by donating $40,000 worth of toys, games, crafts and gift cards for Starlight Express Rooms.
